Welcome back from
Spring Break! Here are some announcements for the month of April. On
Friday April 11, there will be a school field trip to the Leupp Parade.
This will be a morning trip and we will be leaving S.T.A.R. at 9:00
a.m. On the morning of Thursday the 17th, Karen the librarian will be
visiting our K-2 class for a special story-time and to drop off a new
box of books for us. Friday, April 18th there will be no school for
Spring Holiday. On April 23rd and 24th our school will be having visitors
from Hawaii! This should be a wonderful cultural experience for our
students. On April 29th, 30th and May 1st, our second grade students
will be taking the Stanford-9 standardized test in the mornings. If
you have any questions about any of these happenings or would like to
be a parent-volunteer for any of them, please contact me at 606-7419.
Here are some photos I would like to share with you!
Have
you seen our class written and illustrated book about when we cleaned
up trash near the reservation line and put up a sign? Each student received
a copy of our class book. Here are Alexus and Illiana holding our class
sign.

Larry, J.W., Kevin and Vergil are making masks, Nicole paints, Katlynne
is experimenting with pointillism and Brandon is doing sculpture out
of marshmallows and toothpicks!

Here J.W., Chase, Kristen, Kevin, Vergil, Brandon, Alexus
and Illiana are planting wildflower seeds.

Show and tell was fun for all the students. Here is
Chase sharing his Fancy Dance outfit.
The students are writing books all about themselves.
They paired up to trace each others shoes to use as a page in their
books. Here is Joshua tracing Illiana’s shoe. Won’t it be
neat to look back on how their sizes change when they get older?

Here is Brian collecting rocks that we will use to build
a seating area outside of our classroom and our students working with
the compost tumbler.
